Jakes Lauwers was the son of Janneke Honckelboer. Jacques Lauwers or Jakes, was the father of Sarah Lauwers. Sarah was married to Isaak Staats or Staes. Sarah and Isaak were the parents of Maj Abram Staes, who sailed in 1642 to America with his bride Trijntje Jochemse Gysen and became a famous American.

So Janneke Honckelboer was the great-grandmother of Abram Staes. At the same time, Janneke was the aunt of Elisabeth Honckelboer. the 2nd (or third) wife of Hans Staes, the grandfather of Abram Staes. Elisabeth was the step grandmother of Abram.
Nobody has to do with the village of Reusel.
