I 'think' this is a duplicate for John Turner Cochran

John Turner Cochran

The reason I think so is that I'm going through the tree of a DNA match on Ancestry and 23andMe and her tree shows:

John Turner Cochran
B:1786 Orangeburgh,Winton,South Carolina,USA

D:1849 ,Jones,Miss,USA

with wife Mary Strickland and it shows him as the son of William Cochran Sr. and his wife Margaret

The info she has on the father William:

William Cochran Sr
B:1755 ,,,Ireland

D:1814 ,,Mississippi

and on William's wife Margaret:

Margaret
B:1760 ,,South Carolina,USA

D:1855 ,,Miss,USA

and on John Turner Cochran's wife Mary Strickland:

Mary Strickland "Polly"
B:1812 ,,Alabama,USA

D:1860 ,Jones,Miss,USA

It's a Strickland cousin line for me.

Debbie, the information you have is correct. John Turner is my 4th great grandfather, but I did not have him in my familly tree on geni until tonight. I don't know how to fix it so it shows he's my direct ancestor. Geni has shown me two different ways going around the world that he's connected to me, neither way is the correct way. I guess the profiles need to be merged, but I don't know how to make that happen.

Dana, I don't generally merge on lines that aren't in my direct lines because if there is any info conflict, I don't know what is correct. But I went ahead and did the merge. Just please check everything to make sure it is all correct because even though he's my 4th great uncle, I don't really know anything about his details.
