A very large number of pedigrees published by MyHeritage claim that Mary Hamilton, the wife of Matthew Armstrong, is the daughter of William Hamilton of Sanquar and his wife Annabelle Wallace. This proposition is contradicted by Burke's Commoners, and the Dictionary of the Peerage and Baronetage, both of which identify her as the daughter of William Hamilton of Liscloony in King's County in Ireland.
Can anyone provide provide evidence that proves that William Hamilton of Sanquar is the same person as William Hamilton of Liscloony?
