Found it.

Major James B. Isbell Is not the son of Henry Isbell, Sr. Y DNA conflicts. This is the James Hatte peeled off Connecticut. I’m guessing he’s an original emigrant.

R1b1a2 = M269

Alternate coding for the same DNA.

A lot of recent updating of nomenclature adds to the confusion.

Yes you need to be wary about DNA nomenclature.

First, 23andme gets different results for father and son sometimes because their Y-DNA is cursory. FamilyTree DNA is preferred.

Second, ISOGG has changed the nomenclature in the past couple of years.

I sincerely hope that the GEDCOM I uploaded did not add to the problems with this family. Hanna Ritter Isbell married William Milton Crownover and they are my 3rd great grandparents. I don't have the profile in front of me, but I'm pretty sure her father was John Isbell.

Hanna Ritter Crownover - looks OK to me.

We do have an issue upstream of Hanna Ritter Crownover I ran an ancestor report on her and found that
William Tompkins Isbell has both Major James B. Isbell and Major James B. Isbell as father.

So that needs to be fixed.

Erica Howton - I'm going to leave this to you since you were just working on this family two days ago. Can you make sure to lock relationships and MP

William Tompkins Isbell
Major James B. Isbell
Major James B. Isbell

I thought they had been straightened out a week ago.

I would appreciate any help or guidance to either merge Major James Isbell with James Benjamin Isbell or remove one of those for William Tompkins Isbells father. I reviewed the profiles yesterday, and do not know how or do not have permission to resolve this problem..

Done.

James Benjamin Isbell = Major James B. Isbell. Merged.

Great. Thank you. There are / were two different James Isbells as I remember. But since the second one here did not have parents or a spouse, it's fine.

These profiles are not listed by Zella Armstrong as children of Major James B. Isbell & Frances Thompkins Isbell & have been disconnected:
