As a biological grandson to Pioneer Peiter Heyl (changed to Peter Hoyle) there has been a long standing discrepancy as to: Peter's wife who has long been listed as "Catherine Dales" but should be "Susanna Catharina Ulrich Müller". I base this on several points: (1) Having lived with my paternal Grandfather who was born in 1880, GrandDad believed his maternal Grandmother was a Müller; and (2) Extensive work by the U.S. Southern Colonies Project has documented Peiter Heyl's wife as "Susanna Catharina Ulrich Müller".
Subsequent investigations have established that traditional sources for North Carolina pioneer Peter Heÿl are incorrect. For example, North Carolina pioneer Peter Heÿl was not the son of Adam Heyl, and Peter's wife was Susanna Catharina Müller, not Catherine Dales.
The documented work by the U.S. Southern Colonies Project also covers the discrepancy pertaining to the birth date for Peiter Heyl.
I would like to open a public discussion and invite anyone who disputes these finding to join in and help solve this debate.
