I wouldn't know, nor would any of my relatives, as I'm of a different Cornett branch ...
Geni doesn't currently have a profile for a Gertie Cornett Proctor ... if you'd add your parents' & grandparents' profiles onto Geni (with as much of the date & place fields as you have data for filled in), we might get you "connected" into Geni's shared World Family Tree -- and then we may be able to find some other Geni users who may be related more closely.
It is easiest to start adding from "Tree View" (which currently will just show "your profile" without any connections).

p.s.: profiles of living persons are private to the immediate "Family Group"; profiles of deceased persons are best set as Public so that others can see the information and possibly make connections as relevant.
p.p.s.: You can find the Requests, Messages, and other items in the 'notification center' under the little number next to your name in the upper right corner (when logged into Geni). Even if the number is grey or zero, you can still click on it to get there.
