Meshullam Zalman Katzenellenpogen - NB: Slight Discrepancy in Parentage

Actually, they are completely different people, from different generations:

The first one is G9.8 R. Meshullam Zalman Katzenellenpogen, ABD Kedainiai, from Volume 3, Chapter 8, page 421 of The Unbroken Chain, son of G8.1 R. David Katzenellenpogen, born about 1690, and died about 1756, from Chapter 8 page 357.

The 2nd one is G10.10 Meshullam Zalman Katzenellenpogen, born about 1750, from Volume 3, Chapter 8, page 418, son of G9.1 Abraham (ben David) Katzenellenbogen (b.1720/30, and died in 1804) from Chapter 8, page 357.

G10.10's father was a brother to G9.8, so the first Meshullam you mentioned was an uncle to the 2nd one.

The bottom line is that they are definitely different people.

Thanks for clarifying Claudia Bullock They just happen to have had two sons with the same names! While you are reviewing can you please confirm that the G10.10 Meshulam had two sons: Rabbi Nachum Eli (Elijah) Katzenellenpogen and Mordechai Katzenellenpogen and that Bathsheba Rabinowitz is the daughter of G9.8? It seems to me that someone has already confused these two, causing incorrect children to be added to the profile of R' Meshullam Zalman Katzenellenbogen

There is a daughter named Bathsheba, who was showing a conflict involving these 2 Meshullam's as her father. That particular Bathsheba, who was married to Noah Nathan Nata Rabinowitz, was definitely the daughter R' Meshullam Zalman Katzenellenpogen, A.B.D. Kedainiai so I have cleared the conflict, and have her assigned to the correct Meshullam.

I know from "The Unbroken Chain", that the 3 children currently assigned to R' Meshullam Zalman Katzenellenpogen, A.B.D. Kedainiai are correct, however, I do not know who the children of R' Meshullam Zalman Katzenellenbogen were. The two children who currently remain on that profile happen to have the same names as the children of R' Meshullam Zalman Katzenellenpogen, A.B.D. Kedainiai but since no other information was provided, I can't really tell if they are the same people, or if both Meshullam's just happened to have a couple of children with the same names.

It looks like we were cross-posting, but hopefully I answered your questions anyway :).

I'm going ahead and putting some quotations from "The Unbroken Chain" on the 'about' sections of the profiles in question, in order to add more clarity, so that they will hopefully be more easily distinguished from each other.
