Neither Gordy nor Gordeau are found as a family name in Jacobus' Families of Ancient New Haven and Families of Old Fairfield. Unless they were married in England, she would have had to come with her parents. It is unfortunate a marriage record for Timothy has not been found so far or a will for Elizabeth's parents naming her.

Also - they were married before 1646, but this record says 1650. ??

“ Timothy and his wife, Eliza, were included in the three seating arrangements for town meetings held March 10, 1646 (1647 N. S.), February 11, 1655 (1656 N. S.), and February 20, 1661 (1662 N. S.), which were detailed in an appendix to Atwater's history. (As was the custom, she was called "Goodwife" or "Goody".) ”
