James Cranfield [1621-1651] was the 2nd Earl of Middlesex. His only issue was two daughters; Anne & Elizabeth. Upon his death in 1651, his title passed to his brother Lionel Cranfield who became the 3rd Earl of Middlesex. If James Cranfield had a son living, then that son would have become the next Earl.
So, this William Cranfield cannot be the son of James Cranfield, 2nd Earl.
Can he be disconnected from this family please?
I am in the middle of working out the parentage of one of the "Edward Cranfield" whose daughter marries into my Becher family, so am working my way through the family one at a time, filling in dates and events.
