I have a large, heavy oak chest originally owned by Henry J Levitt and purchased from Mackay & Chisolm 59 Princes Street, Edinburgh. The chest, with a brass plaque declaring the owner's name, would have been used for the secure storage of valuables.
We currently use the chest for storage as a blanket box in a guest room but it's on the large size for what we need and have been thinking of selling it. However, I do enjoy the process of returning 'heirlooms' to present day family so I offer you first refusal.
