I think the problem is who is Francis Harrell's parents. There are 2 possible lines. https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/1088866:4802?ssrc... Mary Leach

On ancestry and Family search is

The problem is That Francis Harrell has a possible 2 sets of parents and that is why I won't merge the 2 profiles on Francis. Family Search has Francis the I parents as Francis Harrell and Sarah Perry and I believe it's Levi Harrell
1750–1806
Birth 1750 • Anson, North Carolina, United States
Death 25 FEB 1806 • Orangeburg, South Carolina, USA
and
Sarah Cole
1755–1804
Birth 28 MAR 1755 • Albermarle County, North Carolina, United States
Death 1804 • Orangeburg, Orangeburg, South Carolina, United States
That is why I haven't merge both Francis into one. When you characterize a person as Francis the 1st it usually indicates that his father is not named Francis.
This is the one that brought in the second husband with different parents so the question is who is Mary Leach?
https://www.geni.com/merge/view?revision_id=81534710740
I do not see where her name Leach comes from.
I was working on Pherabe Fort and see two or three daughters named Mary for her and thinking surely they are not all hers.
Hopefully we can find something concrete for them.
I have held off of working on several lines including Holt and Fort.
(I have ordered a book I hope may help for Holt since they are documented even further than what Geni has presently. I need to order the Elias Fort book! I am here on this profile because I landed on a Holt and Fort marriage)

So their marriage is very well documented.
Let me look at the wives for the other Francis Harrell
THIS one calls him Jr:

I will upload them as jpegs to add to Geni
I cannot find a DAR record for Francis Harrell or brother William who the Ancestry tree manager says is the husband of Betsy Owen.
There is a FAG for her which shows Francis as her husband and there is a second memorial at Ancestry for Francis which says it has been removed.
Faustine Darsey on hiatus, can you see anything in DAR for a Francis or a William Harrell/Harrel, etc?
OK the Mary Leach I am researching is actually supposed to be the daughter of Elisha Harrell Sr
1752–1813
Birth 1752 • Bertie, North Carolina, United States
Death 20 MAR 1813 • Darlington, SC, USA and
Phereba Fort (@)
1760–1827
Birth 1760 • Bladen, North Carolina, United States
Death FEB 1827 • Darlington, South Carolina, USA
I am trying to determine how a Leach could possibily be a Harrell marring a Harrell. Which is really no surprise. My Great Grand parents were double 1st cousins and they got married. Harrell and Weeks. And that's not the only ones in the Harrell Familie that did Cousins marrying cousins. If you figure the Leach being a Harell married to a Harrel let me know please.
know that Leach name is hanging me up too!
I got here because of the FORT connection.
I think the two different Francis are separated enough now but I sure wish I could find the supposed DAR record because it isn't pulling up when I search for him.
I trust the person that said this found it but I can't :/
A nice collab note at FS:
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/collaborate/LC5K-G7J
Note
So I found the will of Sarah Perry Cole Harrell in Johnston County for 1807 on ancestry.com where she lists her 5 sons and a daughter.
Her sons were Francis, Jacob, William, Levi and Asa. I cannot decipher the daughter's name.
That squashes the Ester White being Jacob's mom?
And it means all of them were from North Carolina first. But I do not think she was born in Connecticut, I think that is Sarah Cole, not Sarah Perry.
How did this Francis Harrell become unattached to his parents, Levi and Sarah Cole Harrell? Following the book "Burch, Harrell and Allied Families."
Unless someone knows that source to be in error?
Has anyone had any luck figuring this out?

I need a curator please.
William was merged into Francis and I cannot find where in the revisions tab.
The profile for Levi Harrell is relationship locked so I cannot simply ADD son William who married Mary Catherine Harrell per the DAR record.
