I never met or knew any of my grandparents. I was raised by a single mom. Mom had 5 siblings all born in Alabama. Mom was a very proud woman of color. A woman of many "secrets". A Family of many secrets. I remember her saying grandma had a black foot. I thought that was how she died. We were children and did not realize that grandma was Native American. Momma never said it that way.

I am not a royale nor am I of noble birth. My DNA seems to know more about me than my mother. I just want to know who my grandparents were and share their stories with my children. My life then will be complete. I have no regrets. My life has been full of Love.

These words I write on behalf of myself and my brother. We were like twin flames, although two years apart. Butterflies and Lillies.

Bernard and Vanessa. We just want to know who they were. Please.
