George was married to Mary Ann (Lam) Lamb 1799 to abt 1850. This is my direct line.
Do you have any more information about Joseph Zubley Sively's father?
George seems to be an enigma of sorts. Shenandoah records show George Sivelry the base-born son of Catherine Sivley being bound to another person for training or support. This was Catherine, the daughter of Catherine and Joseph. Later George is bound to Matthias Will Catherine, the daughter. It seems George was the daughter’s illegitimate son who was later bound over to his mother and stepfather. Matthias Will was a German prisoner captured at Yorktown who later enlisted with the Americans in Winchester. One way to check is to see if this George was a tailor as this was Matthias’ profession. His son John Henry Will was trained as a tailor as were John Henry’s sons. When a child was bound over to another, it was often to learn a trade. As I said, George is an enigma. You can find some of my family data on this Will/Sivley link on Ancestry..com. My complete notes are on file with the Rockingham County Historical Society.
I do not have any sourced information for Joseph R. Sivley (Sievely) beyond what you have stated. I have not tried to cross the ocean yet with any of my searches. The line I am trying to follow would be Sarah Sievely, married to John Walters. So far information on that family appears to be quite sketchy.
