Rev. John D. Acuff is part of a Gedcom and is still uploading.
May be an amalgamation of several John.s

Help appreciated as I have already merged the obvious duplicates and will step off so as to let the "dust settle" and will revisit.

I see what you mean ...I have a 4th gr8 that had 21 kids but he had 2 wifes . They were all his ...so its not impossible. Thanks for working on this ...it may be my fault . When uploading my gedcom I somehow did it twice ...thats why its still not complete and its been years . I started trying to cut the second from the tree but it was such a problem I just gave up ...just one gedcom had over 65000 people so you see when Im coming from

Private User I did not see a recent issue for your profiles so they may just be a few stragglers but there is an active upload as of yesterday that is bringing in errors and duplicates. That is so frustrating-- to be working on a line, find duplicates and then find a MESS when merging only to be exacerbated by a brand new upload and this by a Geni user that has been on Geni for two years or more... AND then to see those duplicates have children assigned to the wrong parents.
Ugh.

I'll keep working on this family group :)

She just may HAVE given birth to all of these children.
I do see a note on census saying she had 18

I am so thankful for these more detailed census even though so many of our ancestors and even we ourselves hated doing them at all.

My apologies and my hats off to Mrs Winnie Acuff:

Tis is what I can confirm unless she took in a relative's child as her own:

She married John D Acuff on Oct 6 1831 and together they had 18 children. We know 17 of them from the census:

Martha (1832-1833)
Thomas "Diddle Tom" Acuff (1833-1920)
Peter Acuff (1835-1916)
Amy (1836-1935) (married Moses Brock)
Nancy Acuff (1837-1914)
Catherine Acuff (1838-1908) (married James "Jim" Harvey)
William S Acuff (1940-1920)
Elizabeth Acuff (1842-?) (married Leroy Merritt)

The list of spouses is from FAG and since there are errors there, I am hoping to build on each child separately.
At any rate, thank you, everyone.
