Ancestry shows Dace's mother to be Charlotte 'Lottie' Colbert. There is this document attached to his profile that indicates the info that includes his mother as Tikbonnah may not be correct:
Dace James Household:

1837 date of death for Dace James from genealogical work at this website:
http://jenniferhsrn2.homestead.com/jamesfamily.html
She gives parents of Dace James as Adam James, born about 1790, died about 1838 and Tikbonnah, born about 1790, died unknown.
Adam was the son of Benjamin James, born about 1740, died before 1830
She also names children of Dace James and Rutha:
Children of DACE JAMES and RUTHIE UNKNOWN are:
i.GEORGE D. JAMES, b. Abt. 1828; d. 03 Nov 1885.
25.ii.SUSAN L. JAMES, b. Abt. 1831; d. Unknown.
26.iii.BOOKER JAMES, b. Abt. 1835; d. Unknown.
****May not be accurate - Bio from "Leaders and Leading Men "states that Booker was born in 1822. His parents Dace and Ruthie would have to be born around 1800****
iv.FELIX JAMES, b. Bef. 1837; d. Unknown.
27.v.JANE JAMES, b. 03 Mar 1837, MIssissippi; d. 1909.
Additionally, Dace's daugther Jane (James) Wilson's FInd-a-Grave page states that Dace was a white man, which he would have been part indidan if his mother had been Tikbonnah;

Jane James was born in Mississippi. She was the daughter of a white father, Dace James, and an Indian mother [Ruthie - LNU]"
I attached the Choctaw Nation enrollment card under Jane and Rutha's Media tabs. It shows that Jane's father was a non-citizen and that her citizenship is based on her mother having been enrolled first as Chickasaw and it was changed to Choctaw for Jane. So Dace was not counted as Native of any tribe on the card.
