Gena Holman was living in Minneapolis and working as a maid for Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Norrie at 5104 Colfax Avenue South, Minneapolis. In the early hours of February 1,1928, there was a massive house fire. Gena was found still in her bed on the third floor of the house (known as the “maid’s quarters”), deceased, likely due to suffocation/smoke inhalation. The newspaper reported that she was from Verndale, MN, and was survived by her parents, five sisters, and one brother. She was 22 years old.
