I disconnected this Mary Elizabeth Wall from my ancestor Charles Wyndham because there has never been anything indicating he married a woman named Mary Elizabeth Wall. His wives have always been sketchy but known as:

Charles Windham married first, Mary (Turbeville?) (#18).158 Charles Windham married second, Anne (Turbeville?).159 Charles Windham died circa 1770 in South Carolina.

Other marriages: , Ann

He had a son named Maj. Amos Windham (my ancestral uncle) and a son named Daniel, my direct ancestor. The way these had been connected, it appeared Charles had those sons who had half brothers by the same names. So clearly, there was confusion in the connection.

Also, the geography is suspicious about this Mary Elizabeth Wall who was born in England and died in California. None of the family she was connected to were in California.

This Mary Elizabeth Wall may have been married to a man named Charles Windham, but please do not reconnect her to the Charles Windham she was connected to. Those lines have been researched for many years and the lines have been kept accurate here on Geni, if not on other sites. And we'd like to keep it that way.

You may be a descendant of Amos or Daniel Windham, I dont know what your connection is. But if you are, you need to carefully research their line to make sure you trace them back correctly.

My paternal grandmother who raised me was Donia (Windham) Gambrell from Smith County, Mississippi. We have Eubanks cousins there. I don't know if you're related to those, but if you are, they are related to the Daniel Windham I descend from, who was the brother of Maj. Amos Windham and they were both children of Charles Windham and Mary who was believed to have been a Turbeville. You can read all about that in their profiles.

I believe this is the same Mary Elizabth Wall:

Mary Turbeville
