I have been to England and held the Old Bailey Session Papers #403 Richard Baldock in my hands. He was 33 yrs old on 3 Sep 1740, which makes him born in 1707. Richard was sent to America as a convict for stealing a cow from an Ann Davis, widow.

The records didn't show that he was md...but I "assume" he was because of his age...however, he may not have been married.

Richard arrived in Rappahannock Co., VA in 1741...still no recd of a wife. Through military and cemetery recds we can track Richard, Jr. and some for Levi. We do have more info on Levi, as Richard and Elizabeth (Clarkson) Baldock never had children.

I will tell you that there have been many researchers trying to find Richard, Sr's wife and several living in Virginia...thus able to get to courthouses, etc. Its very frustrating, but is sad story of convicts from other countries.

@Richard Baldock
Thank you for your information, but I wonder if we will ever know all the facts about Richard the Immigrant, considering how bad records were in the 1700's.

He m. Martha Maxsted (1695, b. Stanford, England-d. 1767) in 1714/5.

I located a birth date of 1690 for Richard The Immigrant, which makes sense considering he married in 1714/15.

As for his son, Richard, IV, I have found Elizabeth Clarkson is the more likely marriage, but they do mention an Eleanor Agar, of whom I found NO information.
