Does anybody have any information about an Ann Mcdermott who married an unknown man in either irland or england with the surname keough. looks like she had two children to him but when she was transported to australia she was listed as a widow.
she applied for permission to marry on board the ship to marry James Hartley .
It was granted.
from what i can tell james was a soilder who was sentenced.
he was much older than her.
she has a son listed as james hartley, and this is where its confusing. did she give her son her new husband surname.?
its very unclear and there are documents but none that clear u james keough/hartley
