

This is a common problem throughout Geni. Many details, especially place names, aren't historically correct and I find that problematic for many reasons, not least because the records aren't archivally correct. With so many people working on the world tree, though, I'm honestly not sure how one gets around that.
In fact, I often find archivally correct information that I've entered when adding a profile has later been changed by someone who's become a profile manager through merger and I've started to doubt how accurate a lot of the information actually is. I just wish there's been some way for me to save a copy of each profile as I added it for my own records.

Yes, the right information is so important. I am glad that people try to make it as accurate as possible.
Lee, I think you can "imbed" some info in a profile, by adding a document, eg. under Media/documents, or Media/photos. That will be your document and cannot be deleted by a less informed person.
