Problem with this page?

Probably same reason why someone who was born in Muldzen, Gerdauen, Konigsberg, Prussia can now be given as being born in Perawalowo, Kaliningrad, Russia - the new name.
BUT the records are surely under Muldzen and not Perawalowo!!
Also true of so many South Africa place names.

This is a common problem throughout Geni. Many details, especially place names, aren't historically correct and I find that problematic for many reasons, not least because the records aren't archivally correct. With so many people working on the world tree, though, I'm honestly not sure how one gets around that.

In fact, I often find archivally correct information that I've entered when adding a profile has later been changed by someone who's become a profile manager through merger and I've started to doubt how accurate a lot of the information actually is. I just wish there's been some way for me to save a copy of each profile as I added it for my own records.

A suggestion. Use the original name and state flag at the time from which the person came from. esp German. As to South Africa, use Cape/Natal Colonial, Vierkleur or OVS.

Lee Cahill, Phillipp, (My eyes tell me I have the right number of Ls and Ps in your name, Phillipp)
Thanks,
The information on the German, Prussian flags is appreciated.
Yes, the right information is so important. I am glad that people try to make it as accurate as possible.
Lee, I think you can "imbed" some info in a profile, by adding a document, eg. under Media/documents, or Media/photos. That will be your document and cannot be deleted by a less informed person.
