Profiles Mentioned:

Jim White's book is unreliable and the Colonial Settlers website is just copying White. Anthony Buckner Sr. died before 11 Jun 1690 ("Notes from the Records of Stafford County, Virginia, Order Books (Continued)", The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, Vol. 44, No. 4 (Oct., 1936), pp. 296-311), and he was still alive when he witnessed a will in 1689 (R. Sparacio, Deed and Will Book, Stafford County, Virginia 1689 - 1693, Antient Press, 1989, p. 156), so he died in 1689 or 1690. Most likely, he was a son of William Buckner baptized 5 Jul 1644 at St. Thomas, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England. There is no extant christening of an Anthony Buckner in Eynsham in 1628 - Jim White simply made that up. It's fake.
