Richard Faulk - Same-Name Brother ?

I just noticed that this Richard who is my ancestor has a brother also named Richard:

Richard Faulk

Is their proof their parents named two sons Richard or has someone added the brother Richard to the wrong family?

I see a LOT of Gedcom uploads to both their parents:

Wright Faulk

Jennett (Pittman) Faulk

and we all know that it seems most of the time when folks do that and it throws extra connections in, no one takes the time to verify and do any necessary clean-up after the uploads. So I can't help but wonder if that is what has happened here. Worth double-checking.

Since I'm here, I also 'thought' the mother's maiden name of Pittman had been on her profile in the past and it's no longer there:

The info I have and usually see on here shows her just as Jennet Pittman, not Abigail Jennet, with parents Benjamin Pittman and Fortune Foster
On Ancestry there is a Land Grant document that also just refers to her as Jennet Faulk, not Abigail Jennet as showing on her Geni profile.

Any assistance clarifying / documenting these issues would be much appreciated. Thanks.

No one has responded, but I did some Googling and this Richard Faulk is connected to the wrong family:

John Faulk was born ABT 1732 in North Carolina, and died 01 APR 1782 in Edgefield Co., South Carolina. He was the son of John Sr Faulk and Mary.

Jane was born in North Carolina, and died UNKNOWN in Edgeirld Co., South Carolina.

Children of /Jane/ and John/Faulk/ are:
Richard Faulk was born ABT 1751 in Johnston Co., North Carolina, and died 1782 in Wilkes Co., Georgia. He married Lucretia Gilmore on ABT 1771 in Johnston Co., North Carolina. She was born in North Carolina, and died ABT 1811 in Twiggs Co., Georgia. She was buried ABT 1811 in Twiggs Co., Georgia.

Wiki just doesn't list parents for him or his wife:

So as I had suspected in my first post, this Richard has erroneously been connected to the wrong family, which already has a son named Richard and they aren't the same person so can't be merged.

So I'm going ahead and disconnecting this Richard from this family. There are enough links provided that someone from his lines can connect him to his rightful family connections.

I'll also put some notes in his Overview.

Well, I"m back here because a DNA match on Ancestry has this Wright Faulk and wife Jennett Pittman as her possible ancestors, but she has a daughter Elizabeth connected to them who married Bryant Lee and there's no daughter by that name attached here, so I don't know which tree is accurate.

While I'm here, I don't think Wright Faulk's name was John Wright Faulk Jr. He wouldn't have been a Jr. in any case, because his father wasn't John Wright Faulk Sr. I think he was just Wright Faulk.

I wish other profile managers would respond and/or help sort these issues from 2022 to the present. Thanks in advance for any potential assistance.
