I am trying to make a family tree connection. I am Lyle Clayton Abbott Jr in Craig Co VA. My ancestors trace back to James Abbott 1792 – 1864, Thomas Abbott 1753 – 1820, and possibly Richard Abbott 1708? – 1760 of Culpepper VA.
I am working with Larry Abbott trying to determine our ancestor in the 1700 – 1750 period. Using DNA matches we have determined that there were 4 Abbott brothers ( I descended from Thomas) who either descended from a Richard of Culpepper VA or perhaps another Abbott from England, Ireland or Scotland. The Wiki Tree shows James Sr as father of James 1792-1864.
