These three John Perrys of Colonial America were merged, going back several years. I unmerged them. Please check for issues with spouses, children, parents, and dates/locations.

John Perry, of North Carolina

John Perry, of Barnstable (Jr.)

John Perry, of Roxbury

As for John Perry, of Roxbury, I'm not certain that he is the right John Perry husband of Mary Green who was born and died in Stamford, CT.

This is the mess of three different Perry families, that I wrote you a message about.

I think you work on the family that John Perry, of Roxbury is attached to. I'm just not sure that he's the husband of Mary Green, who was from Stamford.

Another way of phrasing this question.

Samuel Perry, of Roxbury Had a son John according to FindAGrave, but is he the same John Perry who went to Stamford and married Mary Perry there?

Mary Perry ls not listed as a child:

Elizabeth was the widow of Joseph Green of Stamford. Her inventory was taken on 2 November 1721 at Stamford and recorded at Fairfield. Nathaniel Green was the administrator of the estate and gave an oath that it was a true inventory. The account of the estate had assets to distribute, and it was ordered to distribute to the five children, Joseph, John, Nathaniel, Waitstill, and Mercy Green.[1]

But she died 1714, so would not have been in probate.

Notes in her profile:

MARY GREEN (JOSEPH2, JOHN1) was born May 30, 1681 in Stamford, CT, and died October 12, 1714 in Stamford, CT. She married JOHN PERRY April 10, 1707 in Stamford, CT. He was born Abt. 1680, and died Aft. 1714.

Unfortunately the source of that narrative is not listed.

I’m still distinguishing Joseph Green, of Stamford & Elizabeth ‘of Stamford’ Green from Joseph Green, of Weymouth & Elizabeth ‘of Weymouth’ Green

And so far I can’t find references, which is annoying.

Separated John Perry, of Stamford from John Perry, of Roxbury

There’s a researcher comment at FamilySearch:

“It looks like proof is needed that the John Perry who married Mary Green in Stamford, Conn is the same as the John who born in Roxbury in 1677.”

So that’s a 4-way smerge. A record? :)

And what is this?

Sarah Perry

Sarah Stedman was born about 1648 at Scituate, Plymouth County. She was the daughter of Isaac Stedman and Elizabeth Winchester. Sarah married Samuel Perry 28 Jan 1668/69 at Roxbury, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.

Susanna Perry

Sarah Stedman was born circa 1648.1,2 She was the daughter of Isaac Stedman and Elizabeth Winchester.1,2 Sarah Stedman married Thomas Perry of Scituate. in Roxbury, Massachusetts Bay Colony.1,2 Her death date has not been found.

I thought it was a 4-way smerge. Glad to have a second pair of eyes on it!

It seems like a number of people did merges in the Perry trees without much thought as to whether they made sense.
