I suspect parents are theoretical but all I did was undo merges.
The genealogy record for barnabus McHenry is confusing. Some say he was born in 1712, others say he was born in 1715. Many say he & his son barnabus McHenry Jr,. fought and died in the Battle of Fort Necessity. There is some consistency in the reporting of Barnabus , Sr. children, but it gets confused when you begin to look at his parents who reportedly died at sea in 1724. The birth dates in some records for Maurice's children are shown after that date. Others only report the birth of Barnabus, Sr. I'm writing a book about Barnabus and it is essential that I get confident that he did fight and die at Fort Necessity. Are you convinced that he did? I'm also struggling with his immigration to Pennsylvania. Any clues? You mentioned conflicting information about the parents of Barnabus, Sr. What is your best guess about his parents? I look forward to hearing from you.
I don't know the family, Gary. .He just showed up in a line I was tracing and I stopped at him since I didn't know which set of parents were correct. Erica reported above that the conflicting parents were the result of merges people didn't sort out and she suspects they were theoretical. So that's all I know.
https://www.geni.com/discussions/252061?msg=1583913 - he had been attached to Maurice Morris McHenry & Frances "Fannie" McHenry

No, that was his son.
See https://books.google.com/books?id=UJjP_T4h3_AC&lpg=PA174&ots=TgDGZi... - this seems reliable for his Family. Says nothing about his origins.
