Hello. I'm wondering if someone could tell me why John E. Helmuth has my MTDNA marker. My understanding of MTDNA is that it would only follow my mother's line...not my father's. Is that correct?
On a side note, I'm searching for the Y-DNA for the Helmuth line. So far, I've only found one person on FTDNA that has tested (R-FT272576) but he doesn't have his DNA uploaded to the Geni site, and he passed away a few years ago.
