Moje Haplogroup U5b1e1

I know nothing about it so far, but it is apparently in my dna.

Hi! My Haplogroup is U5b1c2b.

I know that U5 is a very ancient motherline, if not the oldest in humanity, that if the European aboriginals. We are related to Cheddarman who is one of the oldest ancient human remains discovered in Cheddar Gorge England. The Nordic Sami are relatives. I have acquired a few articles, but i know relatively little.

Judi, I do think it's all exciting but Idk what to make of it. I am on mytrueancestry and it shows my Y and mt DNA haplogroup matches are A, which that is supposed to be the oldest, from what I have read online. I match to all the 7 daughters. I match to lots of haplogroups. Does whatever my haplogroup turns out to be have to I'm assuming all be related to each other and back as far as A??

Hey, Stanislaw, I was researching tallest ppl in the world the other day. I came across a Dutch girl who grew to be 8 feet 2 inches before she died at 17. This was the 1600s and she was living in Spanish Netherlands that was ruled by the Habsburgs. I am 6 feet 8 inches, so I had been wondering where did I get this height and she must be a relative, she has to be. She was the world's tallest woman ever in recorded history and the 5th tallest person in recorded history, from what the internet says. I can't imagine being the tallest person on a continent, much less the world, but being a transgender giant, I kind of understand to a degree.

Hey Michelle!

Thank you for the reply. Haplogroup A is very fascinating indeed and definitely one of the oldest. According to Wikipedia it comes predominately from Asia and Amerindians possess a lot of, so possibly you have a strong relation to them? Really cool! I have read elsewhere that U5 is the genetic link between the European and the Amerindian. Here is that link, you've probably already seen....

And my haplogroup is U5b1b1a1.

Terve Heikki!

You must be closer related to the Saami, and I'm assuming you are Finnish, so that wouldn't be at all surprising.

I have found some links to share with you from a simple Google search if you are interested. I haven't read through it all yet, but it does look very interesting.

First, here's a link to the Geni page for your haplogroup...

Very interesting article about the distribution of U5 haplogroups in Europe ...

This one is really interesting and fun. It has a drop down menu on the top, and when you find your haplo, click on it, and it will show you were most of that group is. It even pins the area in the US that has the largest population of Finns, Minnesota. You are definitely Northern Scandinavian! Lol!

An interesting article about the history and spread of the spread of Finno-Ugric genetics....

This is a pdf of a study about U5 in Norway. Also very interesting. ....

There is so much to choose from now. Years ago when I first started searching there was hardly anything, now there is a plethora of information! It's great fun!!

Happy researching!! :-D
