Is Elizabeth Pope the same as Elizabeth Nason
Did she marry John Nason and / or Ralph Pope
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Nason-13
Some think that [[Richard Nason Richard Nason] Richard Nason] came from Stratford-on-Avon, where there were many of his name at that time and where Nasons still are found. A Richard Nason was bapt. at Stratford-on-Avon, 3 Aug. 1606, son of John Nason who married Elizabeth Nason on 28 Oct 1600. Other than the similarity of names and the fact that the birth year works out there is no evidence that they are the same person.
At the young age of 15, John Nason married Elizabeth Rogers on October 28 1600. Elizabeth was 17 years old at the time (Born 1583), so could not have been the daughter of Margaret Rogers (died 1581).
Elizabeth Pope Was born 1642 , she is not the same person as Elizabeth Rogers baptized October 28, 1563, daughter of Thomas Rogers, of Stratford-upon-Avon
Genealogical gleanings in England, Volume 2 By Henry Fitz-Gilbert Waters, New England Historic Genealogical Society Pg.180
The Parish Registers of Stratford upon Avon commence Anno 1558. By the kind permission of the Vicar, the Rev. George Arbuthnot, M.A., I was enabled to devote the whole of one day, from the close of the morning service to the beginning of the afternoon service, to an examination of them. I took notes of the following marriages:
1600 October 28, John Nelson [SIC: Nason] to Elizabeth Rogers.
She is supposed to have been age 17 at marriage, so born 1583, which rules her out as the Elizabeth Rogers baptized 1563 - who would have been age 37.
However, I don’t believe all the grand daughters have been identified, so further attention is worthwhile.
This study covers more of the extended Rogers Families.
