William Guy was born October 20, 1788, the son of Hezekiah Guy and his second wife Winnifred Cumming Guy, in Loudon County, Virginia. Raised by Quaker parents, he arrived with them, as a young boy in what would become Middleton Twp., Columbiana County, Ohio about 1803, after living a few years in Pennsylvania.
