Basic Search has Started Failing

Using the Search Box found upper right, it has now failed several times.

First tripped over it on 8/28/2022 when I entered a 3rd cousin and it said Not Found.
So I worked my way out to her. Very relieved still there.
Got Not Found when copied and pasted name from above her profile picture - so I know it was not due to a mistyping. Eventually it started finding her again.

Just now, I searched for Morris Dangott - got Not Found.
Searched on just Dangott - 24 were found - none that I managed,
including Morris - Private and his two siblings
Also their parents were not pulled up:
Leon Dangott
Hannah Dangott
Also not pulled up
Geitel Leah Dangott
and many others
I imagine at some point these will be found again but that is not the point -

Search failing sometimes is a problem. We will end up with
Way more duplicates created
and
People very upset over relatives or other profiles they care about being deleted - when no actual deletion

Lois, are you sure you did not have any other selection active?

It seems there is a bug in clear form in that is does not clear the selection for the filters

If you selected a search for a user profile it could be your next searches for non user profiles would result in not found because that filter is not cleared when you clear the form with Clear form

It seems it does clear them now.

Still could it be you had one of these filters active without noticing?

Putting a new entry in the Search Box and clicking enter Automatically clears all the filters.

If that is broken, it would still count as Search broken. But agree, worth thinking about as try to guess exactly what sometimes goes wrong. I think I looked, but am not sure. However --

Just now it pulled 36 for Dangott

When it pulled 24, that included both Public Profiles and ones Private to me.
Ones it did not pull included ones Public and Deceased , and ones Private and Living.
I sometimes set Living Status in Filters, but it missed folks in each category.. Had not set any of those other filters that day.
Did look to make sure no entry showing in Family Members or Name Fields in Sidebar. And that it said Searching All of Geni.

Another instance
Just put in my great grandfather in Search Box in upper right. Got 4 pages of results, says Managed by Me - none found.
Put back to All of Geni, entered his wife's first name in Sidebar for Partner, again got None found.

Did look at that set of filters - no restrictions.
Not only am I a manager, I am primary manager.

Copy and paste his name - same result, so not mistype

You could try making a screenshot and raise a ticket.
