I would like to collect sources that tie the Wood/Atwood family together in England and early Plymouth and neighboring areas.
John Wood/Atwood, the leather seller, (LS) lived in Surrey England where he married Joan Colson and his children were born.
The birth and baptism of their 1st two children are dated and recorded, in England, and thereby begin a timeline.
The family moved to Chancery Lane, London, after the first two children were born. Bills at Chancery Lane record how long the family lived there.
So the age of those two children, Hewson and John, were known when their father left England for the colonies. And the ages of their other children can be extrapolated.
Alicia Crain Williams, FASG, wrote that there were no records in the colonies to link the Wood/Atwood children to their parents in the colonies. And she considered the evidence presented in the Atwood/Wood books to be circumstantial. However, those books need to be revisited to see if there are some facts that she may have over looked And new evidence has been found in civil records, deeds, wills and a marriage record, which tie the family together.
