You say you've "restored the Marriage date" - But I don't know what you are talking about, nor Whom you "found" a Marriage date for? How do you "know" this is "My" Antonina & Giovanni? [your DOB's are wrong, as I state below.] And Which Sources did you consult, Ancestry? MyHerigage? Both have multiple errors of my family, put in by other family members who do Not have the Documentation that I have. I will put in the full dates, when I find them From the Actual Bagheria Archives, not a web site. Until then, years are fine. And you have put in Many "inconsistencies" in my pages!
You also say "If there is something that you simply did not add to Geni personally it does not mean it should be removed. Please start a discussions to discuss things if you are not familiar and i would be glad to discuss anything"
I've tried that with you, over FRICANO v FICANO - you didn't listen, but you were Very Willing to "change the surname" - when I know there is NO relationship between the 2, from my cousin in Italy, who now owns that land. But you think it's OK to simply change a name, date, etc. to "Fit" your whim.
Instead, you have mixed up another FICANO - Lo PINTO lineage with mine! My Proof? The Actual Bagheria Archive document we sent for! And If something I added was changed, incorrect, or not "proven" to be true Yes I DO have the right & obligation to my family to remove it. It is My family, and my family & children shouldn't be thinking I put it there & that info is correct.
1] My Great Grandmother was born on 8 gennaio [Jan.] 1847, Her Parents were Giovanni FICANO, b 1813, & Antonina MAGGIORE, b 1815. [NOT Michele & Teresa La Corte, as you have!] My Giuseppa married Francesco Lo PINTO, b 1843 in Potenza, Basilicata [as was his father & Grandfather]. You don't even have her exact death date on her "Profile Basics" which I Do have, also on that Archive document! I just didn't want to put that in.
2] You have Giuseppa Ficano b 1818, as "your [my] first cousin thrice removed." [who is not necessarily related to my Giuseppa FICANO]. Her parents are Francesco Gioacchino [if there is such a name] Ficano & Grazia Lo Piparo [Check out https://www.behindthename.com/members/signup.php - Italian - that name is not listed in their long list.]
> First of all, I do not look for, nor note "third cousins" on my family lineage, only direct ancestors & their immediate families [Parents & children] I don't need to have thousands of names on my list, as some do. All I want is to go go through direct lines Only. I don't need to elevate my numbers.
3] You also have her husband, Giovanni Cosantino Giuseppe FICANO, born in 1807? But the Bagheria Archives, from the Official Bagheria Archive document, states he was born in 1813, - 7 years after this one you seem to think is my Great grandfather? So Neither one is a direct ancestor of mine.
It is a total MixUp of persons, you've connected the dots wrong, Your dates are way off.
> Here's what you Don't know about Europe, & especially Italy. Multiple families lived in the same towns & villages across Italy. They may have the same surnames, some are related, many have No familial relationship what so ever [i.e FRICANO v FICANO]. Stating that a person is a cousin 3 times removed, means nothing to the real genealogist.
> Have you written to any Archive for documents? I have, which is how I found My Giuseppa's DOB && DOD: her Parents, and her parents DOB's.
> I would Never put up anything on any site, without getting the actual documentation, seeing the actual Archival document - not from some website. Nor would I ever presume to look up websites and add names to Your family, because I am not a member of your family line, and I don't know anything about your family, as you have to mine.
> All the above is why I do not accept your names, dates, etc., because you look at Websites, like Ancestry & MyHeritage - both of which have a ton of misinformation [as does Geni], much put up by other family members, who know Nothing about anyone in my family, nor our history, or stories I heard as a kid, from my nonna, parents, Uncles, & Aunts!
What you don't seem realize, is Genealogy is a precise exorcise, done with diligent research to find the facts, not what appears to be, [especially from webpages] but what is the actual truth. I've been doing this research for over 40 years, so between the stories, & what i've found from Archives, you've added the wrong families to my line. So not much to discuss with someone who doesn't listen to the person who knows more about her family than you do,
