"Lunds historie" states that Anna Sigbjørnsdatter Konstali, the wife of Bjørn Leielsen Haukland and Karl Omundsen Lagestrand, was the daughter of Sigbjørn Andersen Konstali. See: https://www.nb.no/items/931a4ffb452f6a2306de08a17b4d6987?page=296.

Has anyone seen any evidence for this claim?

Sigbjørn Andersen Konstali must have been about 70 years old at the time when Anna was born (about 1700).

See: RA, Manntallet 1701, nr. 4: Jæren og Dalane fogderi, 1701, s. 103-104. https://www.digitalarkivet.no/ft10041010271066

I believe (although I have not seen it myself) that there was a probate after his wife, Anna Tronsdatter, on 06-07-1676. Thus, unless Sigbjørn Andersen Konstali remarried (which is oF course possible) he could not have been the father.

I have seen that others speculate that the father of Anna Sigbjørnsdatter Konstali was Sigbjørn Knutsen Ovedal, who was a son of Knut Håvardsen Konstali and Ingeborg Sigbjørnsdatter Eigeland (at Lund). The wife of Sigbjørn Knutsen Ovedal was Anna Stålesdatter Brikland, and they lived at Brikland (at Bakke).

In the 1701 Manntall he is listed both at Konstali (at Bakke) and Eigeland (at Lund), but it is noted that he lived as a servant at Eigeland (presumeably with his mother's brother Dirik Sigbiørnsen.

Was he married with a child at this time? If not, it is not likely that he was a father of Anna Sigbjørnsdatter Konstali.

Yet, the profile of Anna Sigbjørnsdatter Konstali here at Geni, contains the following text about her: "Hun vokste opp hos farbroren Øysten Knutson på Konstali i Bakke." If this quote is correct, and referring to her, it would prove that Anna Sigbjørnsdatter Konstali was the daughter of Sigbjørn Knutsen Ovedal and not of Sigbjørn Andersen Konstali.

Alternatively, there was also another Sigbjørn Konstali with small children living at Bakke at this time, namely Sigbjørn Karlsen Konstali/ Sandsmark (son of Karl Andersen Konstali), who according to the 1701 Manntall was 34 years old at the time, living at Indre Sandsmark.

I have not been able to get my hands on a copy of "Bakke bygdebok", which might perhaps provide information that would clarify this matter.

Does anyone have any further evidence on this matter?

Her engagement record, dated 29-12-1725, should be noted that Østen Konstali was listed as witness "Trolofvet, Biørn Lejelss. med Anna Sigbiørn datter Konstalie, Caut: Elef Osen og Østen Konstalie"
