tagging the Geni users who added them.
Different stones, dates, locations, cemeteries.
Hopefully someone is able to flesh them out.
Thank you for working on them, Erica Howton
I give up.
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/27377941/john-ashley says:
Gravestone Inscription - "Aged 100 Years"
Married 1782
"THIS IS A MEMORIAL !!
John Ashley is Buried At Ashley Cemetary/Warrior Creek Baptist Church Cemetery
Gray Court, Laurens County, South Carolina MEMORIAL ID
8956205 ·"
Ridiculous! This is an entirely DIFFERENT man with an OLD stone.
This is NOT the same as the man buried in SOUTH CAROLINA!

Let’s keep this complicated Family on its own thread.

These John Ashleys and wife/wives Elizabeth are still a mess.
She is most likely two different women as he is two different men. It is pretty crazy to believe "On 1773, she married John Ashley in Laurens, South Carolina. [1] In 1782, she married a second time; her second husband's name was also John Ashley.[2]"

Today I found ANOTHER man of same name with a wife Amy West or Gant and I think that may actually be helpful to sort them because these are MANY managers with descendants attached
I had forgotten I had started this discussion and added here once I rediscovered it---- appears the same two men got merged again.
They are unmerged but I think we need a new profile for the otther ELizabeth.
Gonna take some work biut is doable.
That FaG "memorial" is in need of correction but I can't make a suggestion while they are not understood here first as far as I am concerned---- I have had really good luck in getting memorials corrected when there is evidence.
Need unmerge:

different husband so can't be the same woman if she even exists
Him is who I added:

so a third John Ashley
"That FaG "memorial" is in need of correction but I can't make a suggestion while they are not understood here first as far as I am concerned---- I have had really good luck in getting memorials corrected when there is evidence."
This I totally understand. I am waist deep in the Harrell family but let me know if I can do something. Sometimes a break or just a fresh pair of eyes is good. Post here and I will be happy to look at it. :-)
John Ashley, of Coffee County
has two sons same name--- who goes?:
Williamson Ashley
William Garrett Ashley
Also, parents for the 100 year old John Ashley, of Coffee County ?
And John Ashley, of Coffee County 's ABOUT will need cleaned up once these are complete.
I see you are still working, Erica!
I have added what I could find and will step off now--- logging out so as to not step on toes.
Thank you so so much
I think the DAR record at https://services.dar.org/Public/DAR_Research/search_adb/?action=ful... has the incorrect burial information, creating the confusion for Elizabeth "Betsy" (Garrett) Ashley, of Laurens County
I believe the centenarian John Ashley, of Coffee County was his own person with his own family.
The children listed at https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/8956217/elizabeth-ashley are l likely correct for John Ashley, of Laurens County and need to be moved over.
Each profile needs biographies. It’s the only way to sustain trees; at some point, we had had this one correct, I think. :(
Will lock as we go along, of course.

DAR has WRONG WIFE:
Elizabeth goes to John Ashley, of Laurens County but he has no DAR because his record is the Pack Horseman that was given to John Ashley who appears in many trees to be illegitimate so someone has likely done the YDNA for the 100 year old Patriot...
Still sorting the children but location is key
What is the source for middle name of “Sanders?”? I moved it to AKA.
What supports as son of John Hill Ashley & Margaret W. L. Ashley
