I've looked and there is no evidence for Merle Grogan being Thomas David Grogan Sr's father. Also, no evidence of Thomas David Grogan Sr, and his son Thomas David Grogan Jr and with Bartholomew and Henry having emigrated from Kings Co, Ireland (Co Offaly). There is some circumstantial evidence that Bartholomew and Thomas David Grogan, Jr were born in 1732 / 1733 in Barbados that emigrated to Carolina between 1755 - 1758. Both, circumstantially, may be sons of Richard Grogan, who did not emigrate from Barbados. Henry John Grogan then would be the grandson of Richard Grogan and son of Thomas Grogan. Bartholomew would be his uncle. So, Tom Jr & Bart were brothers and Henry a son/nephew and not a 3rd brother as usually claimed. These would not be related to the Grogan men that emigrated from Co Wexford to Barbados around 1700; but to an earlier group exiled from Ireland, probably Co Offaly (Kings Co) by Cromwellian forces between 1640 - 1660 most likely. Those records were burned though in the Easter Rebellion of 1916 and burned.

So that's really all there is to it. There are really no records or even a circumstantial evidence case to prove the claims in this tree back to Merle Grogan or even Thomas Grogan Sr emigrating from Kings Co. There is a bit of scant circumstantial evidence of these people coming from Barbados.

If one wants to be really strict, one has to stop at North Carolina and in my case, Henry John Grogan with an unknown birth location in 1748 and death in Rockingham Co in 1827.
