Hello,
Can someone or everyone please tell me what I can do about an overzealous volunteer curator (named Leanne M, Volunteer Curator - Australia). She seems to be obsessed with my family tree.
Every time I get the chance to do some research and add to my tree, she has added or merged other trees. There are so many conflicts, she rarely checks or adds sources, data conflicts left right and centre.
I've messaged her a number of times and her reply is that it's not my tree it's the world tree. I tried to message her tonight because she is manager of a profile of a man who is my ex-partners (deceased) great uncle. She has made this profile private despite his date of death 1896. My message can't be sent to her so I assume she has blocked me.
All of the enjoyment is gone. I don't have the time to be on here every day, but she obviously does. There's very little to 'discover' now because Leanne keeps adding stuff. I've asked her to stop but she won't. She suggested I just go to the sister site, which I can't afford and shouldn't have to go to just because she won't leave my damn tree alone.
I wanted to research my late partner's family history for our sons. Now I have a massive tree full of people I don't know, are barely related and of absolutely no interest to us. Worse, I can't even find a heap of the people I want to see when I open the page.
I'm really disappointed and am contemplating dleting the entire tree.

Geni is a collaborative genealogy website in which we work together on 1 Family tree, the Geni World Family Tree. It currently has over 170 million profiles. It sounds like what you want is to have a private tree solely controlled by you. That is not really possible at Geni.
