The document indicates that Moritz's mother was Johanne, not Hannschen. Anyway Hannschen was married again by 1834

Hello John,
Hannchen is the Yiddish diminutive for Johanne

Hi Daniel, thanks for replying ...... a good point you have raised ......however
1. Hannchen had a child with Michael Aron Weissbein, named Rosalie WEISSBEIN, on Aug 14, 1833 and Moritz was born in 1835 so seems unlikely. I did see the name BASCH on the Moritz document, so this could favour your point.

2. I have a copy of Samuel Edward Shrimski's WILL and in it he names all his siblings. I wonder why Moritz was omitted.

From memory you descend from the GLASER line so probably not a blood relative of mine, but I would bee very happy to continue communication via email. Mine is shrimski@bigpond.net.au

Here is an invitation to my Shrimski tree on Ancestry

Best wishes,
John

Thank you for the invitation John

Hi Daniel, I'm now not so sure about the Weissbein connection. It could be a different Hannschen Basch from Posen. Also Moritz and wife may not be mentioned in SE Shrimski's Will because the Will was made after they had both died and they had no offspring.

So, all options possible.

Hi Daniel, I've now found a reference to Moritz and Henriette's marriage in Gollnow in 1864, and also I noted that Hannschen Wessbein's parents mentioned in her death record don't match what I was expecting, so I'm going to update my tree on Ancestry to reflect what you have.

I like to try to keep things accurate.

Here is a full translation of the death registration ... with a few other comments, but I believe it leaves no doubt that Moritz was another sibling of Jacob etc.

Here it is:

No. 2202

On the 24th of August, 1895,

Today, in front of the undersigned Registrar, the Directress of the local Friedrich Wilhelm’s Hospital gave an official notification in writing

that the merchant Moritz Schrimsky, 61 years old, Jewish religion,
residing in Berlin, Froebel Street, born in Posen, who had been married to Henriette nee Cohn, deceased, last residing in Gollnow,

son of the agent Elias Schrimsky and his wife Johanne nee Basch, both deceased, last residing in Posen,

died in Berlin in the Friedrich Wilhelm’s Hospital on the 24th of August of the year one thousand eight hundred ninety-five, at about 6:45 in the morning.

14 printed words above deleted.

The Registrar as proxy,
Graebner

(The comment about "14 printed words above deleted" means that 14 of the pre-printed words on the form were struck out, because of the relatively unusual format of this declaration. Normally, it would be an individual (relative or friend of the deceased) doing the reporting, and that person's signature would appear at the bottom. This time, the notification came in written form, from an administrator at a hospital).
