Ancestry and Find-a-Grave have Sarah Jackson who was the daughter of Mathew Jackson and Anne Dunavant married to William Deaton, not George Granberry. If she was married twice, it's not listed.

So I was wondering if perhaps this is another Sarah Jackson who belongs to different parents. I did some Googling and most sites don't have parents listed for this Sarah. Wiki has a different set of parents, but no sources:

This site lists her as Sarah (Unknown) Jackson, which makes it appear that perhaps she had been married to a Jackson before she married George Granberry and that her maiden name is unknown:

GEORGE5 GRANBERRY (J ames4, Jl,,foses3 ), born , died in Jefferson
County, Ga., 1805; married first, -------; married second. , SARAH(---) JACKSON.

This is possible since she was George's second wife. She could also been previously married.

I personally don't think she's the same Sarah who was a daughter of the parents here on Geni. This Sarah who is connected as her sister is the only one I've found to be their daughter:

Sarah Deaton

Hello Debbie Gambrell I disconnected the Sarah married to George Granbery from parents, Matthew Jackson & Anne Dunavant.

George Granbery is listed (by DAR) as having a child by first wife after having child by second wife. My head is spinning & will recheck this later.

I've been told DAR records can have errors also. So I guess they have to be double-checked as well. I forget exactly what someone told me, but I think it was that they don't closely check the info the applicants put on their applications. I know that they have the wife of one of my ancestors as Mary and her grave has her name as Margaret and she was traditionally called 'Peggy', which is a common nickname for Margaret, not Mary. They don't seem to fact-check as well as I had always assumed they would.

Does anyone know whether George Granberry and wife had a headstone? I assume he was buried in Jefferson County, Ga. I descend through daughter Elizabeth who married Harvey Herrington.
