Meyer Hersh Rosen had originally been connected as a child of David Rosenberg son of Jacob & Toba (Fine) Rosenberg. However, among other things, with that connection place of birth of self and parents does not agree. That connection was severed.

According to David Rosen's nephew, Charles Pollinger, David preferred to use his middle name and people called him "Willy". Originally, his name was Welvel Herscovici. Allegedly, he was the one who chose the Rosen name when he entered the Country. His father went by Meier Hersh Rosen, with the Hersh probably reflecting the Herscovici"
