I do not believe that Thomas banister and Susan Banister (Adams) are the parents of Alice Cornelia banister, b. 1831
There are several reasons for this.
First; I can find no record that shows her parents as Thomas and Susan, at a place and time when there should be.
Census Date: 1850; ; RG: 29; Series Number: M432; Residence: Armada, Macomb, Michigan; Roll: 357; Page: 25a

- Samuel Skellenger 9, New York
- Susan Skellenger 13, Michigan
- Daniel Thomas 24 , New York
No Alice Cornelia, no Alice, no Cornelia, no A.C. Banister. found anywhere in or around Macomb, Michigan in 1850.
Second; Increasing the area searched to the entire did find ONE record for Alice Banister
Census Date: 1850 RG: 29; Series #: M432; Residence Whitestown, Oneida, New York; Roll: 564; Page: 53a
- Household Members (Name) Age
- Hugh Banister 50, Ireland
- Alice Banister 50, Ireland

- John Banister 9 , Ireland
Third; A female to female decdendant of Alice Banister carries the H15a1 mtDNA marker, and a Female to Female Ancestor/Decdendant of Susan Banister (Adams) Carries the H3b1b mtDNA marker.
I beleive the Alice Banister discovered in 1850 Census in New York with her parents Hugh and Alice banister is the same Alice that married John Gass Dicken
