I deleted two initial posts because of the discussion about Jr. and Sr.His fsather was Tillman and I have no record of a son named William for him. Also, he spelled the name with an "a" in thre first syllable, as did his daughter-- my wife's great=grandmother. I did change his name to Martin in reviewing other records.

I don't know or care about the "more than 40 years" stuff. I've worked on the genealogy for decades, and this is my wife's great-grandfather. She got the spelling from her grandmother: It was her maiden name.

This is on my mom's Rash lineage. I have seen and held in my hands the Death Certificate for Mary Neatherton, I know it is spelled Neatherton. I don't care about 40 years research, either. The surname should be spelled correctly for the next generation of researchers. Sourced facts from written sources should stay on profiles.

My wife is related to the Rashes as well, obviously. I was focused on tracing back the genealogy, not on siblings. Alveta had nine (9) of them; I have just seen that William David was indeed the firstborn son in this line. May was the secon-born; my wife's grandmother was fourth.

The main sources I have are family records and get-togethers and the Gatch Book, in which the family is listed. I didn't realize listing things as I did was going to provoke a response such as was included in your last two sentences.

My issue with the initial past was that the last two sentences struck me as unnecessarily rude. I was simply trying to share information I had, I didn't expect frustration in relation to what was shared.

I willk update things as I have time. I am not a professional genealogist, and I am employed full-time in other work.

I appreciate any constructive help.

I have not seen this Gatch Book, I have heard other researchers write about it and quote sources from it, although the direct sources I have not had the chance, or depth of my research to verify. Not intentionally being rude, just trying to establish working with other researchers to gain knowledge.
