There is one discussion on this topic here: https://www.geni.com/discussions/239585 - it focuses on whether Meyer's father David is the David who is son of Jacob and Toba (Fine) Rosenberg - and clearly shows the answer is No.

I think we are now clear about the Father - his given names were David Zev or Zeev and his surname was Herscovici.
His son Meyer and Meyer's children used the name Rosen in America.
There is a record in JewishGen - in Romania Vital Records Collection - Births - for the birth of Meyer's youngest child, Pauline, as
HERȘCOVICI, Pesa Ghitla -- born: 19/Feb/1896 - Father: Meier, 42 -- Mother: Freida Beila -- Comments: Declarant: Father. Born in: 6 Marta St. Father is a carpenter
So I think we can be sure Meyer and all his children were originally Herscovici.

Unless Meyer's father came to the America, I do not think he ever used the surname Rosen or Rosenberg.

According to Meyer's Death Record - which one can see here: https://www.geni.com/documents/view - his mother was Clara Rosenberg

According to the Death Record of Taube - Taube Molly Moskovitz - which one can see here: https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000190909730836&... - her mother was "Haye -----"

According to Joel F. Levy DDS who is Taube's great grandson - Meyer Hersh (Meir hersch as he had it) was her brother, and their surname was originally Herscovici.
He entered the mother of Taube and Meir/meir hersh as Hanna/hanna (wolf) Rosenberg
JOEL - Will you confirm Meyer and Taube were siblings and originally their surname was Herscovici?
Will you please tell us where you get their mother's name as "Hanna (wolf) Rosenberg" ?

Just found this Marriage Record in JewishGen - Romania Vital Records Collection - Marriages and Divorces

married
LEIBA, Freida Beila - Age and Hometown: 18y / 1856 - Iași
Comments: Witnesses: Ilie TALISMAN, 28 y bookbinder; Hers Leib CREMER, 38 y produce seller. husband is a journeyman carpenter, father is deceased, wife's father deceased

Same given names as Meyer Hersh and his wife, same time of birth we have for Meyer, both are carpenters, both from Iasi, date of marriage sensible for birth of children and their age

Parents this Freida Beila = Menis

One Tree in Ancestry Trees has Hanna Wolf Rosenberg as the wife of David Zev Rosenberg Herscovici
and it gives her death as ABT. 1898 • New York City, NY.
It also provides in Sources a link to New York, Wills and Probate Records, 1659-1999 - which is a Will for somebody with three children, - Louis Rosenberg, Augusta Harris and Pauline Sloman?? -- all three of ahe,living in New York.

Whoever that is, she has nothing to do with this family. - but might be where her name comes from.
