William Patch is currently attached to Thomas Patch, of Wenham and Mary Patch (This Mary Patch was Mary Scott.)

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Patch-22 has that his parents should be Thomas Patch & Mary Lovett. https://ancestors.familysearch.org/en/L6JZ-6G4/william-patch-1668-1742 has that he should have his current parents. This site includes a picture of the handwritten ledger showing the christening of William and his two brothers. (Unfortunately, it does not have the maiden name for Mary.)

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Patch-22 discusses why the parents for William should be Thomas Patch & Mary Lovett based on a 1707 deed between the three brothers that discusses the will of their maternal grandfather.

Once it is determined which Thomas is the correct father of William Patch, then it can be determined who married Eleanor. (No marriage for William and Eleanor in Beverly VR.)

My end-goal is to attach William Patch to the correct parents.

Emily Kent Marget - did you see there there were two William Patches (a generation earlier) who have been conflated in records, and hence, on geni?

I think we need to separate Mary Patch her husband & children from Mary Patch her husband & children.

That should help identify which son William belongs with which.

Erica Howton - Thanks for finding Mary Patch (nee Lovett).

If we can find a similar listing of the children of Thomas Patch & Mary Scott, it would be great.

I'm beginning to think that the handwritten ledger cited from Family Search belongs to Thomas & Mary (Lovett) Patch. Especially since the 1707 deed only has 3 sons of Mary and Thomas & Mary (Scott) Patch had more sons than 3.

I’m sure of it. Just wanted you to look at it before moving the children over to Thomas Patch, of Salem & Beverly It’s easily done now through the relationships tab, and after that, will disconnect Thomas Patch, of Wenham as son of Nicholas Patch, of Beverly & Elizabeth Patch

You should be able to find his children at Wenham VR. I listed out their dates & spouses in his profile. The only overlap. / confusion point is “ Thomas Patch, Jr., b. 19 Jul 1674” but that should be easily resolved by comparing Wenham VR with Beverley VR.

The analysis at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Essex_County_contemporaries%2C_... is convincing to me.

Moved over William Patch as son of Thomas Patch, of Salem & Beverly & Mary Patch

We need new profiles for his two known brothers.

So far this list matches the Wenham VR notes added to profiles.

Children of Mary Scott and Thomas Patch born at Wenham:

  1. Sarah Patch, born about 1650. Married 1) Samuel Osborn 2) Thomas Hale, Jr.
  2. Mariah Patch, b. 3 Feb 1669. Married Abraham Lewis.
  3. Thomas Patch, Jr., b. 19 Jul 1674.
  4. Timothy Patch, b. about 1676. Married Elizabeth Poland.
  5. Stephen Patch, b. 12 Apr 1680. Married 1) Ruth 2) Ruth Waldron
  6. Simon Patch, b. 1682. Married Martha Goldsmith.
  7. Isaac Patch, b. 1682. Married 1) Edith Edwards 2) Mary Hastin
  8. Ephraim Patch, b. about 1682.

Erica Howton - Thanks so much.

I've merged into William of Beverly my "shell" profile.

Is there any proof to support Eleanor Patch, daughter of Richard Patch and Mary "Marie" Patch as the wife of William Patch https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Patch-644 seems to feel that she is.

Without any positive proof, I will not join Eleanor, wife of William Patch to Richard Patch and Mary "Marie" Patch

More info on Eleanor - From Beverly & Wenham VR, she was the last wife of Nathaniel Waldron.

Nathaniel first married Abigail (unknown) who died Apr. 21, 1733. [a. 73 y. CR] per Wenham VR. (First child: Edward, s. Nathaniell and Abbigall, June 4, 1695.) He next married Sarah Harsham of Manchester, at Manchester, May 14, 1735. She died Oct. 14, 1745. Lastly, he married "Mrs. Eleaner Patch of Beverly, Nov. 26, 1746." He died Sept. 2, 1751, a. 91½ y.
