Greetings from down under, I am currently researching my 2x Great Grandfather Captain William Thom b 1823 in Montrose, Angus, Scotland, and his relatives and ancestors.
Greetings from down under, I was wondering whether anyone would have any further information, or knows the parents and siblings of “William Thom”, who was born in Sinclair's Close, Justice Port, Aberdeen, in 1798 / 99, poet and weaver alias The Weaver Poet of Inverurie". He died in Dundee on 29 February 1848.
I am interested to see whether, we have another famous Scottish Poet in our ancestral lineage. My Mother is directly connected to Robbie Burns, and my Dad is connected through his Great Grandfather. Hope someone can help me please.
