I am having difficulty in tracking the Genealogy of William Pepper a farmer (est 1755-1822), Baptised 12th Dec 1754 in Darfield. He Married 1st wife Mary Bowns (Baptised June 1st 1760) on 28th Dec 1784. Lived in Womersley in 1784 when married to 1st wife Mary Bowns. Married 2nd wife Elizabeth Townend (Born Wentworth est 1780) and lived in Newhill Grange.
William Pepper had 14 children from the two marriages, all baptised in Wath Upon Dearne.
Interesting on William Pepper’s & Elizabeth Townend’s marriage register, there was a wittness who signed as Thos. Pepper . On Thomas Pepper’s & Mary Brigg’s marriage document, the signature of the bride Thomas Pepper (1756-1818 was Thos. Pepper & the same as that on William & Elizabeth’s document.
Is it possible that Thomas & William Pepper are blood related – maybe half brothers or maybe brothers or possibly twin brothers.
