Esther Leah Altman born in ‘26 .. survived Auschwitz, went to a DP cap in Sweden, eventually was sponsored to America by Max Mendel Chikofsky her great uncle and half brother to Estera Ita , He died the day she came to the country . She had 2 children in her marriage to Samuel Gozansky from Druzgenikai who changed his name to Cohen . She was called Lola Estera Cohen. Her children were Patrice Renee Cohen born in ‘54 a DDS called Penina Rivka and a son, me Harris Luther Cohen MD called in Hebrew Elazar Hertz after Elazar Hertz Altman my grandfather.
I see on the Ficzman family tree my relatives are included and on the Necha Laks tree or trees based on her info my entire branch of the sitkowska family is cut out/forgotten yet Nella , my “aunt” knew my mother and confirmed her stories. She in fact told me and my mother had not about Itka’s public execution confirmed by others reports found in the internet
