He was certainly from my branch of the WEIL family, probably the son of my ancestor Meir (Mayer) ben Judele (Judah) WEIL, or one of his brothers named Jossele (Joseph) WEIL and Shmule (Samuel) WEIL, because the first name Jossele/Josef/Joseph was only borne in the county of Stühlingen by the brother of my ancestor, and above all he gave his sons the first names of Veit, Marum and Salomon, first names borne by the uncles of my ancestor Meir ben Judele WEIL.
On his death certificate it is indicated that he was 74 years old on the day of his death in 1813, and therefore that he was born around 1739, knowing that the Jewish families of the county of Stühlingen were expelled in 1743 and therefore settled for some in Gailingen and Randegg.
