Was John Hite junior the father of Stanley (Stanley) Hite or did Stanley have a different father and if so, who?

If you're referring to Stanley Hite of Halifax County, Virginia who died in 1827, he is not a descendant of Jost Hite.Unfortunately, some false information appeared in print many years ago identifying this Stanley as a son of John Hite, Jr. (1751-1808).This is clearly impossible because Stanley appeared in a 1782 tax list, which means he must have been born no later than 1761.Therefore he was, at the most, 10 years younger than John Hite, Jr., too old to be his son. Also, John Hite, Jr.'s Bible still exists and it identifies all of his children. This Bible was at one time, and may still be, on display at Belle Grove.John Hite, Jr. did not have a son named Stanley. It seems far more likely that Stanley was connected to the English Hite/Hight family of eastern Virginia.

Understand that he is not a Jost Hite descendant. Having trouble tracing his lineage. Any info about his parents would be appreciated. My family from South Carolina can trace us back to Standley. My father was convinced that the line went back to Jost Hite but our genetic testing shows no German blood. It is positive for English genes. Standley seems to have been prominent in his area but his parents are never mentioned.

So sorry not to have you as a 14th cousin Mr Pirkkala. Sounds like that family reunion would be lots of fun.
