The second death notice of Mary Graves born Coakes says she left behind no issue. A letter in the estate lists her blood relative as her brother Harry Coakes (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS7P-R9CF-J). She would seem to be born from union of Samuel Peter Graves and his first wife Elizabeth Martha Graves (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS7P-R98X-L). A letter from him states that too (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS7P-R9CN-C).

I think the correct parents would be:

Samuel Peter Graves
and
Elizabeth Martha Dicks

Hi Shaun, Sounds like your info is correct. I can't remember where i saw the parents as William Boocock & Mary Graves. I just wrote down the info to add to the tree (silly me i should have downloaded the detail). I think i was trawling through FamilySearch and Ancestry Birth, Death, Marriage, Baptism records and reading through the actual documents)

I'm happy for you to just update the Geni records to mirror the info you found as i got caught up in going back along that tree when all i set out to do originally was find info on Ada and Victor Brown and their father John Brown and how he died.

I'll do that then. I know how it got confused there were two death notices, the family had gotten confused as to which children should be listed and had listed step-children on the one death notice. A later death notice showed there were no biological children correctly. By the way I managed to locate the death notice for John Brown in his estate records and added his parents. FamilySearch hadn't indexed it but luckily NAAIRS had indexed so I could find it easily.

Alright Lucy is fixed. Private User, if you could fix Lucy's siblings as they private to me so I don't have permission to adjust the parents. Thanks.

Hi Shaun, Thanks for sorting it all out. All Lucy's siblings have the same mother as Lucy. I was wondering if you had any info on a sizeable inheritance Lillian Margaret Brown got from (possibly a godfather) back in the UK. This is noted in one of the volumes on British Settlers in Natal 1812-1857 by Shelagh O'Bryne Spencer. This inheritance must have come to her after John Brown's death. I will email the page to you. It is written that after her marriage to Frederick James Hardman they used the inheritance to purchase various properties which possibly included the 310 acre farm Hilltop (part of Vaalkop & Dadelfontein) from John Lumley plus and other properties in Byrne Settler village of Thornville (Lynfield Park today).

No info currently but will take a look at the email once I get it and see if I can find anything.
