Hi , I'm a Martin from Burke, Lincoln ,Caldwell counties in NC. Jacob Martin born in Burke has a Rev war app in the 1830s in Buncombe. Jacob is older than you have him listed. He falls off the Buncombe census and is not listed in 1840 census according to the LDS on line. I have John Martin on my tree. John Martin was in Lincoln near Sherrill's Ford ( now Catawba County) he died in 1818. His last wife was Sarah McCoy. I have John's youngest son George on my tree. John Martin goes by John Martin Sr.
